The York Region Transit Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility (OMSF), dedicated to the Viva fleet, is a 481,679 square foot LEED Silver Certified building. The OMSF is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility that includes a bus storage area, maintenance and repair garage and an administrative and training areas. While touring the OMSF, delegates will learn about the 500,000 litres of rainwater reserve for washing buses, the bus simulator room and much more.

Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension

The Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension (TYSSE) is proposed to open in December 2017. This will be the first Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway line to cross the City of Toronto boundary into York Region. The TYSSE is an 8.6 kilometre project that will extend the TTC subway from Sheppard West Station in the City of Toronto to Highway 7 and Jane Street in the Regional Municipality of York. There will be six new stations, three stations within York Region; Pioneer Village, Highway 407 and Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) Station. Each station will have an adjacent bus terminal. The TYSEE tour will consist of a visit to VMC Station and adjacent bus terminal and include an overview of the SSTS.

This workshop will review the new Integrated Mobility Implementation Toolbox, explaining the key elements of integrated mobility and reviewing international examples featured in the Toolbox. Following this, participants will engage in a hands-on activity to develop practical integrated mobility solutions for a variety of different scenarios. Participants will leave the workshop with a stronger understanding of the many components involved in integrated mobility, and with experience in applying the principles of integrated mobility to solve real-world problems.
